Hand foot and mouth disease

Anyone with any experience got any top tips for coping with hand foot and mouth? My 5 month and 20 month old both have it! X

My toddler had this while we were on holiday in Cyprus last year. He was 5 months at the time. After taking him tot he hospital the doctor only prescribed him camomile lotion for the rash. He also had simple linctus as he had laryngitis at the same time from screaming so much in pain. I just gave home calpol every 4 hours to help keep him pain free (was also teething at the same time). It eased off after a couple of days and baby was fine again but the spots / rash lasted a while longer.

Don't think there is much more you can do so hope that helps.

We ended up at A&E on Christmas Day when my eldest was 1 as we didn't know what the rash was! Just TLC prescribed xx

Thank you - yes my health visitor said all the same. They are both basically over it now but the spots on their faces are lingering x
