Hair bleach

I really want to dye my hair blonde but coz my hair is so dark I will need to do it with bleach .

Is this safe to use while pregnant? Does anyone know also if it has any affact on the way it takes to your hair if you use it while pregnant??

hi hun i have black hair and wanted to lighten it i put bleach on while preggers and it didnt lift it atall i kept trying and trying after 5hrs it went like a brassy orange colour and all broke off

do a strand test first

Don't do it. Early into my pregnancy my hair went purple I had really long hair and then went dark in the 3rd trimester. I didn't like it so I wanted to go back blonde! The hairdresser did it and it snapped off to an inch! Can you imagine having hair past your shoulders then having to have it cut to practically nothing. I was devastated. Apparently the hairdressers I have spoken to say that it's pregnancy hormones make you want to change your hair and that a lot of hairdressers will say no to pregnant women as they regret what they have done after. Take it from me, my hair is now 3 inches all over and I will be getting extensions as soon as I can. I felt shi* while I was pregnant then had that happen. I'll never mess with my hair again when I get preggers again. I'll find my post and show you what happened

Ahh your hair was soo nice!

I really don't want to be left with an inch of hair my hair is quite long now, down to the bottom of my back.

I might just do what dionne suggested and do a strand test before hand and if it starts snapping off then i'll leave it .

Ive only got 7 more weeksbefore baby is born but im just too impatient to wait lol.

Definately don't do it then LOL it was 7 weeks left when I first had mine done dark! The start of a disaster. Seriously though. I mean obviously it's your hair but it may well be your hormones that make you feel like you want to change your hair. If it's that long and dark remember it has to go through about 6 colours before it will go blonde and bright orange is one of them! Just take care, I really wouldn't want the same thing happening to you what happened to me. It's going to take ages to grow back now luckily it's at a stage where I can tolerate it and it took months and months to get back to blonde again http://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk/forum/v ... ght=#71386 here it is now (bit longer now though. i bleached my hair when i was pregnant with my son and it was fine! but it made me soooooo sick it was unbelievable! definatly put me off using bleach in pregnancy again! but with this one i had my hair done at the hair dressers and my hair is really dark and they managed to lighten it without using bleach and it looked fab if you really want to get it done id suggest you have it done at a hairdressers as they can do it without using bleach
