got my growth scan at 2.50 this afternoon, don't feel nervous or anything, reckon i'll be home as normal and all will be ok and will still get to wait till february to pop Dh is assuming big time i'll be having a c-section by the end of the week .. men he just wants 2 weeks off can't have a section anyway, wouldn't want to jump in front of Happy Chic, Squig or Kimbo anyone heard from them today?? haven't checked the boards yet properly
Psss... next person to jump the queue will have me ripping their heads off and spitting down their neck... actually the same rule applies to the next person who asks me when I'm going to pop...
Hi all Scan went well, baby measures fine and estimated weight is 7 1/2 lb Fluid levels are low so i had to have a trace done but that was ok too. consultant wants to see me again next week and have another trace done and maybe another scan if need be but thinks i'll have had baby by then, all i can say to that is he doesn't know me that well if he thinks she'll come early Gotta go back in meantime if i leak, dont get 10 movements per day or pain gets worse etc. They like fluid levels to be between 11 and 20 (hubby thinks they said 9-20) and mine are 7, don't know if that means anything to anyone but it doesn't to me so if anyone can explain feel free. On my notes from the scan it said LV reduced with deepest pool of 3.8cms ??? FL 72.1mm HC331.0mm AC 340.0mm well at least i know if my waters go in a public place they won't flod like some women
Glad everything went well with the scan!! With the measurements, they find 3 pools of fluid around the baby and measure their depth, then add it all together and that gives them the average amount of water around baby. 3.8cms was the deepest pocket of fluid out of the 3 they measured. Mines usually around 7.0 aswell. FL = Femur length HC = Head Circumference AC = Abdominal Circumference
Oh yeah, i don't know your notes have it, but for each measurement there is a little graph and a cross on each graph to show babys measurements and how near they are to 'Normal' (there should be a low line, a normal line and a high line) looking at my graph 7.0 cms for 39 weeks is below normal for that stage but not too low if you get what I mean?
Thanks Poppy on my notes i got 4 boxes BPD (do you know what this is?) its way off the chart up above 'over average if you get me FL is just above normal HC is just below normal AC is in between normal and the line above so does this mean its got a small head and big belly OMFG i've just looked up BPD, it means 'Bi Parietal Diameter' the width across the babies head....should i be worried DH just laughed and said well its gonna split you in half then aint it
BPD = Biparietal Diameter The diameter of the fetal head as measured from one parietal eminence to the other. Any idea what a parietal eminence is?? If they haven't mentioned that theye are concerned then it should be fine. Anything slightly above or below 'average' is okay, it's just when it gets under 'Below Average' or above 'Over average' that they get concerned..but if they haven't mentioned the BPD then I'm sure its fine. With my fluid, it's usually right on the 'Below Normal' line But they aren't too worried.
i just added a bit at the bottom of my last post about the BPD Looks like i haven't got my fluid levels on a graph like the others then
