Hi ladies... So im NOT preg.. but i am only ovulating once revery 6 mths,
so.......

after yrs of dealing with non regular periods and all the rest , we have been told i am not ovulating every month and are off to see a fertility specialist!
I cant call to make a app until next Monday and the suspense is killing me.
I am in shock that we need help... its upsetting isnt it! Just keep thinking why us?
The doc said they would prob put me on clomid? Could anyone just explain a bit to me considering im doing my head in waiting to make a app?
Thanks all..
Em
is there anything else they will do b4 trying chlomid??

ME (25) <3 OH (27)

Hi Em
I too never ovulated when trying for my son Tommy. We were trying for nearly 2 years before they ran any tests. As long as you have no other problems then not ovulating is the easiest to fix. Clomid basically forces your ovaries to produce eggs again. They think mine stopped due to being on the pill for a while. I was lucky and fell on my 2nd month of taking them. I do know a few ladies that were on them for a lot longer with no luck but then they had PCOS too so makes it more complicated. Try not to worry hun. They will want to check that you are ovulating after starting clomid with blood tests and hopefully they will also send you for a scan to make sure everything else is ok too (if they haven' already)

I have zero experience and so am very un-helpful but just wanted to offer some good vibes. From what Donna's said it sounds very hopeful and I hope things work out well for you

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you had bad news. I can imagine it must be quite upsetting to hear that, and you are so young! I haven't started TTC yet but hope to in the next year and I am 26, so it really made me think..

Like others have said, it could be really easily fixed so stay positive!

I am intrigued about it being linked to taking the pill for a while though, I've been on it for 9 years. Were you on it a long time too?

 coming off the pill does seem to affect your fertility in the short term- not everybody though i must add. i came off it in june and it has messed about my cycles. i went 102 days without a period at first. my cycles are still long - 36-42 days but at least they are back!! it seems to take approx 6-12 months for most peoples bodies to get back to normal after stopping the pill. also what pill your on seems to effect it.
my advice would be to come off the pill now to allow your body time to recover before you ttc- i wish someone had told me that all those months ago!!
good luck and hopefully we'll see you on here again!
xx

Thank you for the repsonse!

I have been toying with the idea of coming off the pill now and using condoms, but as we all know...they aren't the nicest thing in the world! I think if we want to start TTC in the next year then it would be a good idea to get off it now and try to get my cycles in order!

Sorry to have hijacked the thread...but thank you :)

It also looks like I am not ovulating as well so I sort of know how you feel. They might do some other tests like a scan as well to rule out pcos (unless you have already had these) before putting you onto clomid.

Good Luck and I hope you get some answers and your bfp soon
