this may sound stupid, but can you give a baby too much water?

Tim normally has about 4oz over the day. Is this too much/not enough?

Are you breatfeeding or bottle feeding?
With breastfeeding you don't need to give any additional water.
If your bottlefeeding, I'm not sure if there is a recommended amount - i guess there is a balance between having enough that they don't get constipated but not filling them up on water. Provided he is not overly hungry and not constipated I would think it is fine.

we mix feed. he has breastmilk all day, and then 10-12oz of formula after his bath to get him through the night...

Oh - could you reply to Valley Girl post above re nighttime formula top up?
4oz sounds like plenty if he is only on one formula feed though
