GBS during pregnancy

My doctor test me for GBS at my 39 weeks and I got negative result. Now I am in 40 weeks and read that test should be done between 35-37 weeks. Please, somebody tell me if my result is valid, despite the fact that it is done on 39 weeks.

I'm not entirely sure but my understanding was that as strep B can come and go very quickly the closer you're tested to delivery the better, so i'd have said the fact you had yours later was a good thing..
