this is for parents who are on a budget .... if you want, list free or very cheap days out for parents and thier children ...so if your ever stuck for something to do and have no money this list may be able to help you out im going to start with a few and please feel free to add xx

1.blackberry picking (in your nearest woods)

2.bug spotting
(self create a chart with lady bugs, caterpillers, butterflys, snails, spiders, birds and go to your nearest park and get your little one to cross them off the chart when theve finished award them with a sticker, it not only teaches them its also very fun seeing your littles ones brain work and its very free)!! xx

On a similar theme you could collect leaves etc to make a picture with them.

Chalk drawing on the garden patio.

Chalk hopscotch.

London museums are mainly free to get into. Or look for local attractions that ask for a donation rather than entrance fee.

We go to the local parks (3 of them for variety)

We go to feed the ducks and swans

We go to the beach in the summer

We go to the library were they have a kids section and we usually turn up when there will be other kids there

Great idea for a thread!

Summer picnics , even better if you can go by bike

Gardening with mummy!

Tesco have balloon modeling balloons in large packets fokr £1, so you can make those balloon models that they always want when your on a day out (recomened a value manual balllon pump tho!) We spent about 2 hours on it last time...

I willl have a think about more days out style ones

Messy play - painting, gluing

Going on a walk with 'aims' like see who can collect the most twigs or flowers.. Make a fun game out if it.. Then whatever you do collect you can use to make prints and collages

Free farm (one by me)

Making ice lollys (squash and water or fruit juice or milkshake)

Water fights!!!!! :D

Making paper aeroplanes and having races up n down garden or park

Making paper boats or boats out of plastic bottles, tins ect take them to stream or shallow waters n have boat races .. Can also do this in bath tub.. Or any long plastic container

Also

Making paper mâché masks and then making dens in garden or house and playing imagination games

Make a kite (google it) or even buy one for ~£5 as a big but inexpensive birthday present, size matters to kiddies. Then next time the weathers getting in the way of a day out go attempt to fly a kite :)
