Just Thought Id Find This Thread I Made Ages Ago To Say - I STILL Havnt Recieved Any News About My Claim

Iv Phoned Them 3 Times & Each Time They've Said.. "Your Case Hasnt Been Looked At Yet, I Cant See Anything On The Computer"...

who can claim it?

You can get a Sure Start Maternity Grant if you or your partner or civil partner receive any of the following:

Income Support
income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the family element
Working Tax Credit where a disability or severe disability element is included in the award
and if one of the following applies to you:

you or your partner or civil partner are pregnant or have given birth within the last three months
you or your partner or civil partner have adopted a child, or in certain circumstances have been granted a residence order for a child, within the last three months and the child is less than one year old
you and your husband or wife have been granted a parental order for a surrogate birth within the last three months
you're getting benefit for a dependant under the age of 20 who is pregnant or has given birth within the last three months
Income Support
Jobseeker's Allowance
Pension Credit

With both Aimee and Nathan from the day I sent off my forms till the money being in the bank was about 8 days so pretty fast

Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the family element

This confuses some people, let me try and explain...

You can get the grant if you get Child Tax Credit at a rate that is more than the family element of £545 (or £1090 if you have a baby under one)

In other words, apply BEFORE your baby is born and you only need to be entitled to £545 CTC to qualify. if you wait till after baby is born you need to get £1090 CTC per year to qualify.

Have they definately received your application form hun? Maybe its got lost or something?

I got a letter about 7 days after they had received my application saying I wasnt entitled to it

carly you applied before me and ive had my money and spent it.. i know its different in different areas.. i would ring them and ask to spk to managment if they say you havent been looked at.. and ask if theres anyway of finding out if your letter is lost.. or trace it up..

I was so so shocked at how quick they where I posted it on a thursday and had it in my bank by the next thursday expected it to take weeks, I had already spent it the month before and had to put it straight on my visa

I Just Rang Again & The Woman Said She'll Get Someone To Ring Back Today Or Tomorrow To Let Me Know Whats Happening & To Check That They Recieved The Form. FFS This Really Is Typical
