Josh's cord was cut really short when he was born and was ever so sticky until it fell off at 10 days old.
Since then he's always had a little pink sticky out bit coming from his tummy button, sort of flesh like - its sticky a bit and so weve cleaned it regularly - HV and doctor say its normal

Then this morning i noticed some dried pink stuff on ghis babygrow and the little pink stub is now dark red / black and looks like a small pea hanging on by a tiny bit if skin.

I cleaned it all up and it didnt seem to hurt him at all, but i wondered if this is normal or if i should be worried??
Do you think its just the last bit of his cord ??

Sounds like a bit like an umbilical granuloma, basically where the bit where the cord comes off doesn't dry up and form skin over the top. Becky had one and I can't remember how long it took to heal - one day it just seemed smaller. Was a good few weeks though. Now there is a teeny, round bit that is just normal skin (it's probably only about 3mm). Some places use silver nitrate to treat it/dry it up but we were advised just to leave it and it went away by itself.

Just keep it clean with boiled water and ask your HV for advice, sounds like it'll probably go itself soon

Update - just changed nappy and it fell off !! Now looks like a normal belly button :?

Anjali had that too and it went by itself :D

Yay great news!!
My first 3 all had that and had to have it burnt off with silver nitrate!! Didnt hurt them but still would have been nicer for it to go by itself! lol

levi had the exact same, his has fell off and healed perfectly now too :D
