I just recently found I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant, I bought pregnacare vitamins plus my doctor prescribed me folic acid. I just checked my vitamins and seen they contain 400mcg folic acid but I have also been taking 400mcg of folic acid which my doctor prescribed. Is this dangerous? should I just stick to the multivitamins ?

    Thanks girls x

Nope youre fine :) I was on 5mg folic acid prescribed by GP so youre completely safe to take both if you want but your pregnancy vitamin should be enough.

Not as far as im aware of. Max dose is 10mg. I'm sure there's a few who will comment and recommend folate rather than folic acid, its natural and your body can absorb it better but tbh i dont know much about it. You are completely safe taking both.

It's fine as the body doesn't retain the extra we don't need. I'm taking pregnacare & 5mg folic acid X
