First antenatal appt

Hello,
I am having my first antenatal appt next week with a mw and I am wondering if there'll be a scan? I am going to St Mary's hospital in North London. I haven't had one since my 5th week.

well your 12 weeks so in therey you should have your scan but normally you would get a letter explaing this and what the procedure is, if your not sure drink loads of water an hour before just in case they do scan you as they will get a better picture.

and what could they actually see at 5 weeks, i'm just interested really, was it quite detailed for the age?

i never knew they did them that early, i've seen one at about 8-9 weeks!!!

At 5wks it was because I had two previous ectopics so they just needed to see if it was in the right place.

I did receive a letter explaining that I were to have blood and urine samples taken, medical history but nothing about a scan. So, I am not too sure. I guess with blood samples you can see a lot as far as the good health of the baby, no?

bloods are mainly to test your goog health but also for downs and spina bifida.
