Feeling discouraged and confused

So I was 5 days passed my missed period when I started spotting(pink/brown) then the following day I started what seemed like my period. That only lasted 1 day(heavy blood/clots) then it just suddenly stopped. 2 days later I have started spotting (pink/watery). I have taken a pregnancy test but it has been negative. Has anyone had this happen and find out they were pregnant later on or what the reason is for this? I always have regular periods that last 5 days
