Last night I went to talk to my neighbour about something and very almost fainted on her doorstep. It was horrible, I felt hot, sick, dizzy and couldn't see properly plus I was sweating like crazy :| I had to go and sit down in her house for 20 mins till I felt better. :?

Then this morning, got up for work as normal, showered, had weetabix, drove to station with OH and was walking to station when - bam - it hit me again. Exactly the same horrible feelings plus felt like my legs had turned to lead. :( This was in the street, under the railway bridge, during rush hour. How embarrassing.

Luckily my doctors is only a minute walk from where I was at the time so we went there and I waited to see the duty doctor.

Walking up the stairs to the doctor's room I felt faint and dizzy all over again... after just one flight of stairs! :wall:

Anyway, to cut a long story short, had to have blood tests. Everything else (urine/BP) was ok. Doctor thinks I might be anaemic and/or have gestational diabetes! :talkhand: Results come through early next week.

Roll on 3rd Trimester. I can't wait to have my baby and start to feel more normal again! (haha) :D

Hey Sabrina,

So sorry to hear you've been feeling so rough - but I'm glad you made it to the docs and hopefully you will get some answers soon.

Make sure you rest up over the next few days (no business trips anywhere!) and keep us updated on how you are.

Love

Valentine xxx

Aw, that is horrible when it happens...i was very anaemic before pregnancy so the doc just told me to carry on taking my iron tablets as normal...i hope i dont start fainting :S

This happened to me last week! It was horrible!!!!
I was in Asda shopping with my mum and I suddenly went all hot and dizzy, I tried to carry on shopping but I felt so faint I had to sit on the floor in the chocolate isle! I was so close to fainting I had to dump my half full shopping trolly and leave!

I get feint and breathless quite a lot. It's because pregnancy causes your blood pressure to drop quite considerably, you don't get as much oxygen as usual.

Apparently the best thing to do is make sure you drink lots and stay hydrated. And make sure you eat regularly aswell to keep up your energy.

I don't think I'm anaemic but I guess that could be a factor also.

xx

Hi Sabrina,

I think you need to take it easy for a bit, that must be horrible feeling like that. I felt a bit like this at around 14 weeks but only for a few days. Let us know how you get on, and in the mean time lok after yourself x

Aww thanks for your lovely replies ladies. It's reassuring to know I'm not totally alone with these weird faint like feelings. It was very scary yesterday :|

I've told my boss I won't be in work till mid-next week at earliest and later if the results are delayed. I'm not going to risk making a 30 minute commute on a train whilst I'm feeling like this. :shakehead:

I don't feel dizzy at all today although my leg/hip is stiff from the SPD. Good news is the support belt arrived so I'll give that a try on/off see how it goes.

Thankfully LO seems fine and is kicking a lot as usual. It's just me who is unwell it seems

Thanks again for your messages. I'll let you know what happens with the blood tests. In the meantime I'm at home, marooned, for a while so expect to see a bit more of me on here ! LOL. This site really is a life support at times.

HI Sabrina,

you poor thing, must have been reallt scarey for you.

I have been quite breathless and had palpitations for the past couple of days, especially when I have walked up and down stairs etc... I guess it is something to do with increased blood flow etc....

Take it easy and good luck with the results
