I have had a lot of EWCM today but just done an OPK and apparently I am not ovulating?! :eh:

I think that's quite normal.

Your body knows what's going on before any test will :)

In my last cycle i started getting EWCM on cd 12 but i didn't get a positive OPK reading until cd 15,16 and 17.

I mean, still have sex by all means as sperm could still be alive when you do finally ovulate but ewcm is more of an indicator of your overall fertility rather than an indication of ovulation.

I think I am around day 11. When do you normally ovulate in a cycle?

Oh I see. I'm not very good at advising this kind of thing, my only advice would be to wait and see if it changes over the next few days.

It is regarded normal to ovulate anywhere between 12-16 days before your next cycle.

So, if you are next due on the 25th ish then you should ovulate between the 9th and the 13th ish :)

And when you ovulate that is the best chance of conceiving?

Umm, kind of.

Apparently the ultimate best time to conceive is the first 12 hours after you have ovulated, but there is no way to know when you have ovulated any more accurately than within a 48 hour time frame.

When you get a LH surge (positive OPK) ovulation is supposed to occur within 48 hours.

I personally am currently trying (it changes every cycle) to have sex as often as possible from my LH surge over the next 48 hours.

However, it is thought that sperm cells can survive inside your uterus for 3 days and therefore many women will have sex from 3 days before their LH surge and then throughout ovulation in the hope that there is some sperm cellss sitting around waiting for the egg already.

Bloomin eck - it's easy to forget how complicated everything is until you have to try and explain it lol

It depends what theory you prefer when to decide having sex and how often you have sex - the truth is that not even the scientists know exactly.

To be honest because it's so complicated, my husband and I are just BDing every other day. x

Exactly what we're doing. I mean BDing every other day gives you a good chance and for me, it's less stressful than tracking my OV as I'm irregular anyway and I want us to be as relaxed as possible. :)

You can sometimes get ewcm days before ovulating...could be a sign to get BDing good luck xxx

Haha! I've actually had some white CM myself, thought it was too early for OV and it's only a little bit but been having it all day plus some dull aches and twinges in my left side.

Sooooo looking forward to tonight. ;)

It's too early for me to be preg, it's been 10-11 days since AF so tooooooo early. :(

Doesn't hurt to keep BDing though! :p
