DD and I have been slowly making our way through the Harry Potter books (we are on order of the phoenix atm)..

well Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire the movie was on TV today, and DD is currently sitting on the sofa tutting away because "that's not what happened in the book"... "they haven't put that bit in"... "that's not what happened"...

Now I have the very difficult task of explaining the eternal truth behind why the movies are never like the books...

The last time I did this was explaining why it is ok to lie to people sometimes... :rotfl: :rotfl: i.e. No mummy your bum doesn't look big in that.. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

How many other eternal truths do I need to explain... ???

Well you still have the whole Christmas thing

and that although you should never lose your temper and call people names - it's ok when you're driving.

But wait until you get to the whole why its ok for you to have a drink and get a bit merry  but they should never ever EVER do the same - not even when they're 30 oor they'll end up like the idiots on Booze Britain
