Employer acting all annoyed.

Me & partner work for the same company so I asked HR(also the director) how many holidays I have got left to take, as I want time with partner before maternity.

She got major up tight & arrogant about it, "we'll what are you planning Linz, I need to know & I need to know when you got off on maternity so I can make plans"

She said it in such a horrible nasty way. We' re restricted to when we can have holidays any so I can't have nothing until close to my maternity leave as its the contract no holidays in busy season & also I got until 15 weeks before I'm due to tell her maternity.

She's acting like such a childish person about it. !!!

I feel your pain! My boss has been funny about my time off too. We are meant to be allowed to carry over 40 hours unused holiday into the new holiday year (runs from September 1st to 31st August) and she is carrying over this amount herself to go on holiday in September yet she told me I am not allowed to carry mine over as I wanted to take it in October when I am too tired to work!

We get our new yearly holiday allowance on September 1st 2013 and as my fixed term contract ends on 9th September 2014 (next year) and is not being renewed I decided to go on maternity leave at 38 weeks as it means with tagging on my new yrs holiday allowance on the end of my leave next year I won't have to return to work at all. She trying to have a hissy fit about it and was trying to tell me I am not entitled to my holiday even though the HR department told me to do this! So annoying. x

Some people huh!

Even my manager said or over heard - god she's up tight about it.

I'm not telling her, even the holidays until I get my maternity form next month - so she can wait. There will be plenty of notice. I don't think mine realises yet that I'm entitled to holidays next years whilst being on maternity. Even though she's HR she makes up her own rules.

Seems like a lot of HR departments like to change the rules to suit themselves, it is so annoying! x

Well mines been strange too .... I told md a week and a half ago over the phone (as he wasn't in that week and I needed to get it out in the open)

..... So far this week had a few one to one meetings with him and he's not even mentioned it!

I think he's in denial as I've been there 10 years and am basically his deputy with no one around to do my job when I'm offs.!!
