Hi all

I was just wondering if someone can explain to me how the EDD is calculated? Is Naegele's rule used in the NHS?

Thank you

I could be wrong but I think you get your first due date by counting 40 weeks from your last period. Then they look at the size of the baby on your first scan

I’m a midwife and we don’t use a formula per se.... just our dating wheels.

Another midwife checking in. Hello! I was made aware of that formula when I started my training, but as Princess81 said, we don't use it really. We use our wheels to calculate the EDD based on your LMP but once you've had your dating scan at 12/40, that supersedes the LMP EDD, and in some cases the EDD will be the same.
