Just wondering when Ella should be using a spoon herself? She prefers to use her hands, but she will use a spoon if we load it for her! Is this all okay? Sometimes I feel we baby her too much by feeding her ourselves rather than just letting her get on with it.

tbh glenn has been using his spoon since he was bout 8-9 months old, he has been using a fork (which he is better with) since he was about 11 months, he manages much better with a fork why dont you try it?

I am in the same boat, Caelan can't even use a spoon  Hes fine with finger foods but when hes eating his mashed up food he does need our help.

She is still a baby hun, she will get it in her own time. Cally has a spoon occasionally but prefers to use her hands. Perhaps let her have one to play with but I really wouldn't worry too much.

 only in the last few months have i been giving hannah a spoon. She mainly uses her hands (sinse she turned 1, she has refused ANYTHING spoon fed by me) So she mainly lives of fingerfoods.
Im glad ive waited till shes older anyway, alot less mess lololol. She can now manage cornflakes without too much spillage lol.

Emily is a LOOOONGGG way form being able to feed herself with a spoon... im probably not even gonna try it for a good while. :)

Thanks for the replies :) Rach, we have a fork but she still prefers to use her hands  I'll keep encouraging her to use it :)
