Early scan

Hi I never had an early scan with dd but due to past mc I have booked an early scan where I'll be 8+5.. What sort of early scans did people have vaginal or abdominal and were your scans clear around that time xx

This is mine at 7 weeks 3 days. We seen baby and heartbeat with abdominal scan but due to my retroverted uterus the midwife wanted to do a vaginal scan as well to get a clearer look at everything. The pic was from the vaginal scan.

I was 8+2 and had a vaginal scan.
We could see baby shape with arm and leg buds was really cute.

Hi, I had one at 6w1d and they didn't need to do a trans-vag which I thought they would. Good luck x

I got both at my early scan. I was 7+ weeks, baby appears on abdominal ultrasound, but still did a transvag to get a better look at the HB.

Nice big full bladder for abdominal scan, empty bladder for transvag.

Id say at 8w its very likely they will try abdominal first. If not then they may suggest returning later. Alot of clinics take after the 8w mark though to ensure you see something via abdominal ultrasound by this point.
