Early scan, no heartbeat

Hi all I'm having a slight wobble. As we have been TTC for two years and we were just starting tests for infertility when I had a positive test, my consultant offered me an early scan. I was thinking I was approx. 6 +5 but when she did the scan there was a really clear scan but couldn't see anything in there. From the scan it was worked out I was 5+3 and she booked me in for another scan in a couple of weeks. I was okay with this as she didn't seemed concerned at all and congratulated me. But since then and on the drive home I've had a major panic that there should be at least something to see within the sac and she wants us to go back as she is concerned the pregnancy is not viable!!!!
Anyone else had experience of this?

If you've been dated at 5 weeks there can be just a sac and the rest comes by week 6/7. I had a scan at 5 weeks last time and there was just an empty sac and tiny nobble and then at 7 weeks the sac had a kidney bean looking thing in it
Try not to panic xx

I know it's hard but try not to worry. It's too early for a heartbeat yet it doesn't mean something is wrong and when you go next time you will be further along see your little babies heartbeat beating away xx

i had my first scan at 5 weeks an all we could see was black hole (sac) i went back 2 weeks later an saw a baby...i thought i was 7 weeks when i went for first scan sometimes dates are wrong...Try not to worry i know its hard but even if ya google scan pics for weeks you are its perfectly normal not to see anything till week 6-7 an heartbeat from 6-8 weeks xx xx

Thanks both i'm trying to be rational and think like that. Think I've just got my self worked up and hopefully the next couple of weeks go by quickly. Just wondered if anyone had been the same. Think as midwife had worked out I was nearly 7 weeks was bit shocked it went back by that much.

i had scan with my now 3 yo at 5 weeks and no heartbeat, they rearranged for 1 week later and there it was! try not to worry about it. xx

it was same with me they worked out i was 6 weeks went for scan week later an i was 4-5 weeks madness then 2 weeks later i was 7 weeks ..i dont think they can get it right from last period as you may ovulate different an depends on lengh of cycle xxx
