drinking and testing

Hello

I posted a topic awhile ago I dont come on here that much and I asked if drinking could affect chances of conceiving. well also does anyone no if drinking alcohol can effect the reading on a home pregnancy tester? i am convinced i am pregnant but the result was negative however i had been drinking (about 3 pints) before i took it. please advise me if i should take a nother test???

I read somewhere that alcohol doesn't affect a HPT. Perhaps you are simply testing too early?

BTW--I'm with you on having a few pints before getting down to the anxious business of testing!

I wouldn't have thought that the alcohol would affect the result, but the amount of fluid would have watered down your urine.

Try and do a test with your first morning urine and see how you go!

Thanks for the replys. I can't help but drink before I test because I feel I can cope better with a BFN if I am more relaxed, but if this might be watering it down I think I will test 1st thing in the morning to know for sure.
