Dr Spock?

I was brought up on Dr Spock, but my OH seems to have some objection - haven't figured out what yet - so I was just wondering if anybody out there had any opinions on it!

Dr. Spock's book Baby and Child Care was published in 1946, just in time for the post-World War II baby boom, and became a widely-accepted "bible" on child rearing. Pediatrician Spock encouraged new parents to use common sense and to treat children with respect.

found this on google - is this what you meant? if so, yes a totally agree with the "common sense and treating children with respect" bit!

I was brought up on it too! My Mum still swears by him! I think her copy is in tatters now due to the many times she consulted him whenever my brother and I did anything unusual or were peaky!
