Doula

Hi everyone im new on here, im 30 weeks pregnant

I was wondering if anyone would consider having a doula or anyone know anyone who has?

I love the idea of a doula - but don't think i could afford it - think i'll just train my sister up instead.

A doula is someone that comes with you to midwife appts and the birth etc to help you through it if you havent got a mum or family member to be with you!
im not sure i could have someone i didnt really no with me through the birth x

I love the idea of someone who will be confindent at the birth who is looking out for me! But we cant justify the money so Im just gonna have to make my OH concentrate hard during antenatal classes!

Yeah i agree they cost alot, i suppose they are good for ladies who are looking for more emotional support. I watched a show about them and just wondered if there is much call for them.

i think they are really good but i been through it 2 times already so i havent much use for one haha and at £400 i looked into one and that was 3 years ago lol im def not paying for one!! haha!!

I think Doulas should be made available if you want one on the NHS! I would love to have one with me but finances won't allow for and OH would never understand the idea behind a Doula.
