Dopplers !!

Hi for anyone that has one of these what is the earliest you found your babies heartbeat? They advise to not even try until you are 21 weeks but it's a bit hard to resist. Where abouts did you find your babies heartbeat? They say an inch below your belly button but i guess thats for someone who is further gone than me. Maybe i should just wait another 5 weeks xx

I RECKON IF YOU GO REALLY LOW DOWN NEAR YOUR PUBIC AREA AND WORK YOUR WAY UP YOU MIGHT LOCATE IT. BUT I WOULDN'T TRY UNTIL YOU ARE AT LEAST 20 WEEKS.

I would have been a nervous wreck without my doppler!!! With a history of miscarriages I really wanted to have some reassurance so I bought mine off ebay when I was only 8 weeks - I kept trying to find heartbeat and eventually found it at 14 weeks.. loud and clear every time I tried.. worth the wait and every penny!!

My LO is very low down so found heartbeat very close to pubic bone [just above] either in the centre or slightly left of centre.

I would go to sleep listening to that lovely sound almost every night until about 22 weeks when feeling the movements took over. I still use the doppler now and again cos I just love hearing that sound!!!

I got mine off ebay too anna marie, it was a bargain and i can't wait to hear the heartbeat but i don't want to try to early and stress out cause i can't find it,must be patient xx

I bought mine off ebay and used it from around 11/12 weeks, I could find the heartbeat no problem but it does depend on how the babies lying.

Once I started to feel the baby move at around 14.5 weeks, I never used it again until last week. The movements were reassuring enough for me.

So I wouldn't worry about being obsessive with it (suppose it depends on what kind of person you are).

It's lovely listening to the heartbeat, especially as they never seem to let you listen to it too much at the ante natal appointments, not at mine anyway.

I've been finding the babies heartbeat no probs at all since about 12 weeks. It just depends on how the baby is lying and how good your doppler is. Mine is the same as my midwifes and can be used from 10 weeks

id have to strapped to me whilst shoping in asda !

My OH bought one of ebay and were both obsessed!

I thought we could hear it moving lol....
but i guess that was just my imagination.

My OH keeps following me round the house
trying to strap it onto me when I stop still lol.

Its becoming a pain think I need to hide it from both of us!

I got mine for £10 (a bit of a cheapy ) This one advises that you shouldn't use it before 21 weeks prob because its rubbish . I will wait a few more weeks and let you know if I hear anything other than my food digesting xx

i got one from mother care was aload of crap just about heard the heart beat at 34weeks

mine was 30 off of ebay and it is really good but my LO always kicks it away so it takes a while to find it but after a while it is there

ive got a dopper its really good im 15 weeks and found the heartbeat at about 12 weeks and it cost around £70

I am just waiting for mine got it of ebay, I got mine for my son so he can hear the baby and get closer im taking him to the scans to, he is so excited he is telling everyone mummy and daddy are making him a baby for christmas! i dont no were he got that from but it might save us some money at christmas

Hey,

I got my doppler when I was 15 weeks, it really depends on what doppler you get, I got one that stated you can use it from 8 weeks onwards and if u start from the top your pubic area and work your way around there you will be sure to find it!

If you do have any problems with finding it and end up getting a bit worried your Midwife will help you!
