No the estate agents say they will accept DSS (housing benefit).

So after viewing the house what is the next step?

Just anything you know will help as Im clueless.

Oh forgot to add,

Will they accept birth certificate as ID?

Lost my drivers license and passport is out of date.

have you got the deposit and 1 months rent in advance?x

I already recieve housing benefit.

As for the deposit, not as of yet, but I wont be moving to March/April so I have time to get it together.

xx

I don't understand why some agents won't take housing benefits  . Housing benefits is designed to pay the rent. If I was an agent I'd have more trust in people recieving housing befenits than some tenants, who don't even bother giving proper references or proer garantors (sp). My agency is the same, they won't take housing benefits, but the amount of people who've ran away without paying rent in my block of flats!!
It's stupid of them :shakehead:

with houses that accept DSS they tend to go really fast.

me and my mum viewed some before new year and the estate agents tend to line up lots of viewings one after the other and that day it's gone, it's literally view it and a hour/2 later have the forms filled in or you've missed out around here.

i'd get saving up for the deposit love so you don't miss out!

i know you need a form from the council that you will fill in and so will the landlord i think it is, and you will need someone to agree that they will pay the rent if something goes wrong.. as far as i can remember :)
