Girls - please help.

I have got the most horrific swollen ankles. It hurts up my calf muscles and shins when I walk. I wear open shoes - cant even think about wearing socks. My feet are not hot - they are freezing most of the time actually. I sit with them up, try walking around for a bit to keep the blood flowing but nothing is working. My BP was high the other day which is being re-checked tomorrow.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated as I am finding it harder to walk around every day.

Poor you!

Have you tried putting frozen peas on them or something like that?

Check with your midwife first, but would flight socks help!? I suffered with swollen ankles, hands and feet as well, but it too hot to wear socks then - I just kept them up as much as possible and had plentiy of baths - the water pressure of a bath is supposed to help with the pressure inside your legs. Its all worth it int he end though

You tryed tubi-grip? Its what the oldies use for swollen ankles ..however cant remember why now...might be worth checkin with someone first thou ...all theses do`s and donts gahh xx

Nope, not allowed, I wanted to try that as my ankles swell up to 5 times the size, feet up higher than heart, I see you are due, don't do anything, just sit or lay down. Drinks lots of water, stay away from salt, every bit of salt. you can put your feet in ice cold water, use frozen peas or veg etc

Get it checked out with your MW asap, swollan very bad could be a sign of toxicemia/pre-eclampsia, not saying it is though. Get someone to rub your feet in an upwards directions for 10 mins every hour or so.

I know it's not helpful but this is what I have been doing, couldn't walk at times.

Jendon having read your other post I think you should speak to your MW if your legs are that swollen. Better to be safe than sorry
