Hi all, Sorry if this is a long post!

Have any of you had to have dental treatment late in PG? Basically, about a month ago, I lost a filling and it got infected so I had to go and get emergency treatment at the hospital. they would only fill it temporarily until i could get a dentist (nightmare aroung here!)

Anyway, I did get a dentist but he didn't want to remove it until ive had the baby so left it as it was as I wasn't in pain anymore.

Now today my filling has fallen out again and i'm worried about it getting infected as ive still got 8 weeks til EDD. My dentist is on holiday and no-one else will see me except for a private one which is going to cost me 80 pounds but they can do it on the morning. Thing is, I don't want to pay all that money out to have a filling which will probably fall out again so was wondering if it would be safe to just have it taken out? theres not much tooth left and they had to numb it to drill and fill it before so what would the difference be with removing it?

Has anyone else had a tooth removed this late in PG at all???

Thanks

Tan x

i went to dentist and they refused to do anything until my lil one was born.

I have to go back in 3 weeks for my dental work.

sorry that i'm not kinda answering you question but be careful that they don't just do the work and it harms you .

Ask your MW see what she says ? ? ?

I had a temporary filling put in just over 3 months ago as my dentist also is not willing to do any proper work until little un is here. The filling actually fell out that day. Went back yesterday (3 months later), had my teeth cleaned but she didnt mention anything about the temp that had fallen out. Not due to go back until August now

Hi Tan,

I had a real bad toothy peg ache (its dying  ) so my Dentist drilled it out & put in a temporary filling which fell out ages ago (then got an infection & had to take antibiotics) & he wouldn't do any further treatment coz of bubs, he said I would need several more x-rays (had 1 on the day) & would be in the chair for a while etc so said to come back after baby is born.
I'm due to go back on the 5th June so by then it will have been about 3months since I went. I've just been ensuring my teeth are clean after i've eaten anything & making sure no food gets stuck in the hole.

I haven't had a tooth removed but I doubt any dentist would do it just incase. I would wait until your LO is here then go & get it sorted.

Nicki.x :D

Hi Tan,again,my problem is not really the same, but I still have a first tooth (at the age of 34!) which hasn't budged until now.I have had x rays before, the second tooth is there, but will need some help in getting into position.I went for my routine check up last week, and my dentist also said that he will not be doing any treatment of any kind until my little man is here. You have to be so careful don't you?
