Date of 1st Scan

Hi All,

Im so excited, i got my date for my 12 week scan yesterday, luckily it is the day before i go away on holiday! Ive got it on the 11th May and cant wait, I dont want to know the sex of the baby, does anyone know if they just tell you or do they ask you if you want to know??!! And can they tell at 12 weeks??!!

They don't look for the sex of the baby on the scans unless there is a medical reason for them to do so or unless you ask them to look.

It's also usually the 20 week scan that you can find out as that's when things are big enough to see.

I just told them as soon as I went in that I didn't want to know so even if they did see they wouldn't ask.

It is really excting to see the baby. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen!
