Credit card letter

I need to write a letter to my credit card company saying that I can only afford to pay them a set amoung each month for the next 6 months (while Im on mat leave)
I have no idea what to say...can anybody give me a template or wording?
I dont want to give them a sob story but also want them to take what I say into account so it needs to be strong yet soppy (if you know what I mean?)

have u tried ringing them? ive rung a few companies about myself being on mat leave and they have actually been quite helpful.

they some times set up a direct debit or offer a payment break?

have thought about ringing but wanted to put it in writing too
What did you say to them when you rang?

just said i wont have much money coming in due to being on mat leave. and asked if i could set up a payment plan until i returned to work. just explain with no work and new baby money will be tight, also if the person isnt being helpful hang up and ring back and hope a woman answers lol there always alot more helpful lol
