Hi

I am new to this site and the whole TTC thing so please be nice :)

Me and my fiancé of 12 years have decided we are ready for a baby! 😍 I was on the pill for around a year and during that year I probably had 1 period. I stopped taking the pill last Thursday and we have had unprotected sex twice since due to work.

I haven't started a period yet from stopping the pill and don't know when to expect one so couldn't work out when I would be ovulating. We thought we would have some fun practicing until I had my period and then we could work out my ovulating days.

However a couple of days after having sex I am experiencing pulling/dragging like feelingin my stomach. Not painful but noticeable. I felt as though something was happening inside me but when I told my other half he just said surely I can't be pregnant yet.

After speaking to a friend today and telling her how I was feeling she told me about implantation cramps that some women feel and after reading up on them that is exactly what I am feeling.

It hasn't even been a week since we last had sex so no way I could do a test yet but, is there a chance I could be pregnant??? I would be grateful if anyone has had any similar experiences could let me know. The pill I was on was cerelle btw.

I so hope I am as that will be just amazing and we can't wait to be parents. Any help or advice welcome :)

Thanks
Dani

Welcome to the forum! :)

I have felt implantation cramps similar to what you describe, however implantation happens 6-12 days after you concieve so if you're feeling these cramps just a couple of days after sex then it would be too early.

It is entirely possible to ovulate and concieve almost immediately after coming off the pill in my experience. I stopped the pill on 20th December 2014 and had a positive test in my hand on the 10th January 2015, just 21 days after my last pill. I nearly died of shock ha. I must have caught the week between Christmas and new year :) keeping everything crossed that you have a similar experience! Xx

I did read that some people experienced the cramps immediately like me and were pregnant. At what point is it best to take a test to get a proper result, is it 14-21 days after? I am very impatient so hope it happens as quickly as possible!! X

Although re - reading your post, are you feeling the cramps today and you had sex a week ago? Or did you just feel them a couple of days after sex? If it's the first then you never know! Mine were a very strange feeling that i've never felt before or since, only when pregnant. Like a pinching prickling feeling inside my stomach really low down xx

I would take a test maybe 3 week's after coming off the pill, as even if you caught straight away it wouldn't show on a test until 10 days to a couple of weeks after you concieve xx

I think we last had sex on Saturday and I felt the cramps since Monday. I just feel as though something is going on inside of me and couldn't believe it when I read about the cramps and that was how I am feeling. I suppose everyone is different it is a weird feeling, the best way I can describe it is pulling/dragging and it isn't painful really and the feeling is low down. X

Having just come off the pill in August myself I can say almost certainty that what you are feeling is not implantation but the effects of coming off the pill. The symptoms I experienced bore all the marks of ovulation and implantation but they were not. It was just my body getting the hormones out of my system. Although it does happen it's very rare to fall pregnant immediately and in your case, 2 days after sex would not be enough time for implantation. I just ovulated last week for the first time since stopping the pill 2 months prior.
