Codeine and bf

Bloody hell that's horrible, that poor woman :(

I was also given codeine after having Alex last year for episiotomy pain, but only took it a few times as a last resort when paracetamol and diclofenac weren't helping because it makes me sleepy. At the time I asked whether any of these things would be a problem with breastfeeding and was told that it was all fine... now obviously I have no idea whether it was related, but Alex was admitted to hospital for one night when he was a week old with laboured breathing. He was fine, the doctors decided it was just 'how he is'

Good to know in case we have another baby in the future.

Like anything, the research is always changing. I guess it's good that at least we know now.

Sounds like you metabolise the codeine quite quickly. Xxx
