Hiya

Isaac is 3. He weighs 2 and a half stones, 35lbs, 15.88kg. His height is just over 1 metre as he is quite tall for his age.

Today Jed bought him a booster seat he happened to see for £6 from a wholesalers. We're not sure if it will suitable for him but we can always put it away if its not, but his current car seat, which he has had since a baby is on the biggest setting and he can't even fit in it wearing his coat anymore!

I need reassurance girls please :) I have read info on this website....

http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/types/

But because I'm such a worry wort I need your advice too! :)

Is it a booster seat with a back piece?!
Im not sure I would use a normal booster seat with him just yet but one with a back on I would definitely! Hes the right weight for them and must be safer than one he is too big for I would imagine! :D

i thought booster seat were for 6 plus up until then it had to be some sort of seat but i may be wrong i have just had a quick look at Hannahs which is a seat and booster and it shows the seat up to age 6 and then taking the back off and the booster say 6-11

Oh ok, yeah this is just the cushion type one. Probably not suitable then. I know you can pick up the ones with backs in for around £40 so I'll get him one of them till he's old enough.

Thanks :D

For £6 you don't mind getting it and putting it away do you :)

Hun go off the weight! If the seat is suitable for his weight then its suitable for him!

Thats only £25 so good price and suitable for him too! :D

Personally I'm a fan of the 2 in 1 boosters (with a back at first that you can take off and just end up with a booster later.)

We have This one

I like that it has a 5 point harness for now, later will use just the seatbelt, and later still we take the back off and just have the booster.
I just want Brody to be as safe as possible in the car and I believe these ones are safest, plus if he falls asleep he's supported and not lolling all over the car :)

Thanks urchin, I didn't think about him falling asleep

That one you have looks excellent, i'll show Jed.

cheers :)

We have the booster style with the back, Seren took her arms out of the 5 point harness ones and as soon as she weighed the right amount we switched to a normal seatbelt one, which has proven to be so much better as she has her arm in and doesn't run the risk of getting injured with a lap belt. Plus everyone booster with 5 point harness we looked at had a very narrow base and it would just cut in and be very difficult to do up with Serten.

Have a look round, ask at Halfords and mothercare etc and look on the which website for independant reviews.

I will beanie, thanks for your help :)
