Quick question what is a good starter cheese for blw? I have quite strong cheddar for me is that suitable? Does it need to be low salt? The amount she's eating the salt content won't really matter but I'm clueless.

Thanks

Good question I have no advice but was wondering the same thing!

I see no issue if she's only having a little and you obv don't add salt elsewhere. But you may find she prefers something milder - say emmentel or gruyere - tho my lo didn't like the rubbery texture of real cheese :wall2:

I started with mild cheddar but she actually prefers extra mature. She also like mozzarella, it makes her laugh!

I started with mild cheddar too but my LO also prefers stronger cheese.

I buy Cathedral City Chedds which are the perfect size. She can eat a whole bag! X

I'll stick to bits of my stuff then thanks everyone :)

We use Red Leicester here so we started with that.

We also do Babybels (he doesn't like?) and Dairylea triangles (again he doesn't like)

As they only have such small amounts I wouldn't worry about salt content.

Also make sure you always give full fat version of dairy

Nat try slicing the babybel. Freya wont touch it if I cube it. But if I slice is longways she scoffs the lot!

Fussy buggers x
