Cervix question

Hi,

I'm not 'in tune' with my cervix position throughout my cycle, I don't really like to touch it...lol

I know before I ovulate it's hard & closed. But I'm 6dpo today & think I may have had implantation yesterday due to a temp dip (I know it's early but my LP is only 11 days & it's not unheard of at 5dpo). My cervix is very soft & open at the moment, is this normal after ovulation up to af showing up?

Lol, you put your fingers up there, it doesn't need to be far up.

As you approach ovulation your cervix becomes soft, high, open and wet - you can remember this with the acronym SHOW. After ovulation these signs reverse and the cervix becomes firm, low, closed and dry.

but i dont think its good to touch it makes me feel BOKE

in all seriousness though it is a good way to check you are fertile, but if you are using opks just leave it alone, its internal....stop it

lmfao, I knew you would have says something on here to lynette I remember you saying to me it makes you go like a sexually abused clam I was howling so now thats all I think of when I think of a cervix.

I dont dare check mine either, I have tried once and tbh everything is wet and slippery so I cant be bothered sticking a finger up there all the time in order to check if its less/more slippery! lol I will stick to opks.. xxxxxx

What to see if I'm still ovulating? No I haven't, I used one 2 days after ovulation & it was negative. My temp has risen so I must of ovulated.

Right I've just checked my journal cos I love rooting around my cervix and on 4 and 5 dpo mine was SHOW (soft high open and wet). It wasn't until 6dpo that mine starting to feel more like a cervix again rather than a bag of mushy peas! (I knew there was a good reason I logged every single day last cycle so I could look back!).

After 6dpo, I stopped checking my cervix to reduce chance of infection, but i did feel it at AF time (was the only way I would know how it feels to be low, hard and open so HAD to feel and had a good wash after it yuck). The day before AF it went high and soft but closed, like a little bump, rather than a low cylindrical cervix, but on the day of AF it was right down, hard like a nose and slightly open.

If you don't get a BFP this month (but fingers x'd you do) then i would spend next cycle to feel the changes, honestly it's amazing (sorry lynette if you are reading this, you will be throwing up by now!)

also go on my beautiful cervix website, it shows ladies cervixes right through a whole cycle and even shows an early pregnant cervix, great viewing if you can stomach it and gives you a better idea of what and where to feel.

I check my cp..It took me a few times to really know that I was "looking" for but I have no problem doing it now. you're supposed to check your cp every day at the same time. Clean hands of course, I like to do it in the evening while I shower, just prop a leg up and away I go....

Thanks liz Milne I will have a look at that website once DH has gone to work, I think he'd wonder what on earth I was doing if he saw it...lol

I had a quick read on the Internet & some people do get soft open cervix's in early pg, but I am not getting my hopes up as I don't know what it normally feels like at this stage in my cycle.
