Aimee had really bad eczema when she was younger but its been cleared up completly for months now. I have noticed over the past couple of weeks its started to come back and is quite bad again today. I was wondering if it could be down to the weather? Can it be affected be the time of year it is and if it is what causes it? I was thinking maybe it was the heating but I don't know. Anyone have a clue?

It could easily be the increased cold, or also the increased central heating which can be very drying. Is the weather the only new thing, no dietary changes, new pets etc?

No theres nothing else i can think of. Its just she seems to have been eczema free all summer and thats the only thing i can think of.

Is it worse on the bits of her that are exposed to the cold? Maybe you could get a nice thick emollient from your go for it? I read somewhere if its because of the dry heating air, you can put a bowl of water on top of the radiators to increase the humidity..... Not sure how practical that is though, and I've never tried it.

have u ever thuoght of a food that could be causing it?
My eldest daughter got it slightly on her arms every now and then. Eventually we discovered pork was the culprit. Everytime she had a sausage or other pork product she would get a flare up. So we cut pork out her diet.
Funnily enough my mother is the same and so is my second youngest daughter :)
maybe look at her diet.

Budge took the words out of my mouth.

excema is very commonly caused by allergies to foods

Maybe it is a food, i really don't know. She has being eating all sorts over christmas so i wouldn't have a clue what it could be.
