OH got himself a sandwich today froma well known supermarket...chicken salad baguette
He was happily munching away when he spotted a dead caterpillar which dropped from the sandwich onto his knee!!
He is really queasy and green around the gills tonight :puke:

I rang their customer helpline, they apologised and said they would send £15 voucher as a "goodwill gesture"

I feel sick thinking of it, (and looking at it, he brought it home to show me!!! :puke: )

yuk thats really bad!!!! you should get more that bloody £15! hehe

Aww thats nice of them to give you a voucher :D

I ate half a ladybird the other week whilst munching on a bag of grapes

OH agrees with you, I think £15 is good!!! OH wants a weeks shopping or a years supply of nappies to compensate!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I said the reason there was hardly any lettuce on the buttie was coz the greedy caterpillar had munched it all!!! :cheer: :rotfl:

yuk i found one today in my rasps i was nearly sick! which supermarket was it?

Lol at least it was not just 1/2 a caterpillar :puke:

Sorry couldn't resist

Ewwwww I don't £15 makes up for that really I think I'd be physically ill for days :puke:

We went to a restaurant and I ordered a salad, when it came there was a caterpillar (ALIVE!) crawling over the lettuce leaves, when we called the waiter over to complain he said ' oh you have a chicken caesar, at least your not vegetarian - that would have offended you more'. I laugh now, but at the time i just stared at him in disbelief!
The manager came over to apologise, and ask if we would like a replacement salad - er no!
We had to fill in a form, then paid for our drinks, didn't have to pay for any of the food, and 2 weeks later we received an apology letter and £20 vouchers.

We used them at a different branch and have never returned to our local branch, nice gesture though, and was a surprise to receive the vouchers. Its one of those things, there will always be bugs on food, but at least in a restaurant you expect them to wash the leaves properly!

emmylou... is that restaurant part of a chain??

You're right though, would definately expect them to have washed it etc made sure it was suitable to serve!!!

:puke: Feeling very queasy ladies :puke:

Reminds me of the time I was eating blackberries and found half a cream coloured grub inside one...ok probably a maggot and I didn't find the other half :puke:

You know when you open food in a restaurant you need to put a little coulured sticker on it with the date it was opened and when to use by on the packet. Well i found half of one of them stickers in my food at a restaurant before and told the guy (not complaining) just laughingly and got a free meal :D I say take catterpillars out in your handbag and you will never have to pay for food again!! lol
