Careers in the care sector that is not nursing or gp

Looking at the nhs careers site, I'm just looking for people's experience working in the care sector that does not involve having to touch people or their fluids. I'd like to explore a bit more than the usual doctor or nurse what's the course or learning path towards it like and how could it be expanded by further studying. Reason being, I'd love a career in the care sector. I'd love to be a doctor but I'm phobic of touching strangers or having to deal with human fluids so not much is left in my idea!

Or atleast it's not achievable without having to do a part which might involve that, was looking at health visiting just to see whether it would even be something to me interest but it isn't because of having to do midwifery or nursing prior to it!

I just happened to bump into my old work mate the other day whose just finished her masters for that and now works in health and safety because it's not doing the job that's she's learned to do! I think I'll stick to nutrition and try to get on the right path to become a dietitian!

I'm a social worker and find it extremely rewarding. Maybe your friend was just unlucky - i'm doing exactly what I thought I would be doing as a social worker.

I've also been a nurse and jacked that in for social work. I'm much happier now!

When I finished my masters I never thought I would work in the care sector but after qualifying, I am now a counsellor (this is only voluntary though) and through the day I work as a summariser in a GP surgery. I love it, fascinating and I dont have to touch people! Possible options if you are interested might be a medical secretary or receptionist?

My job is fascinating, I sort out patient notes on the GP system and make sure everything is up to date, anything irrelevant or incorrectly coded is removed and multiples are grouped together. All of the office work can be really interesting if that fits better rather than things like health visitor or anything like that x

I work in admin probably the most boring part of the health care sector but I love my job and I have just the right amount of contact. And actually have learned so much lol. Especially since I've worked in few specialties now.

I work in cancer hospital and love going out my way for patients in need. Its very rewarding.

In my mum group is a woman who works with cancer patients too and she said the other day that she found it very rewarding to do!

I actually gave health visiting a thought but then figured out you've got to either do nursing which is something I really couldn't do or do midwifery and that's far too much responsibility!
