car seat questions

I was given an evenflo discovery car seat by my sister-in-law. It doens't have instructions except for a stciker on the side of the base of the seat.
We tried it out in the car and it didn't seem to be very stable.

When car seats are fitted in a car are they totally stable?
Are they only connected with the seat belt over the base or are they supposed to be screwed in?

generally just a sesat belt they do wobble slighty but if u take it to babies r us or kiddiecare they will show u how to fit one

Yes I would definitly take it to a shop like halford and get some advice, it's not something you want to get wrong!
It should be very stable when it's in.
