Camcorders, advice or recommendations

It is Hubbies birthday soon and i thought i would get him a camcorder for his Birthday so he can catch all those special moments on camera. I have to admit camcorder is something i have no idea about. Any advice when buying one or even recommendations on ones that you already have or even ones to stay clear off.

Lol good pressie! I'd just go to a shop that sells them an ask all the advice and pick one you like then go find it cheaper! X

Well i have had 2 camcorders. Panasonic one (is an older one with a tape in it) and was fab and the new one OH has bought to capture baby is a Sony one with a built in hard drive!! Both are good makes and have had no probs with either but couldn't tell you the model of the new one except its like a dark purpley black colour!!!
