i was just wondering how log it took to to feel "back to normal"?

also

how long did you bleed for (if you dont mind me asking)

I stopped bleeding about a week ago and had 'cuddles' for the first time without my big baby bump and it was very weird lol!!!

my scars healing up nicely, i was up walkin around 2days after I had Jamie which the mw was impressed with!!

How r u finding it hev?

i feel really good im walking around fine but i started walking the day after but i was a bit like an old granny lol

im still bleeding but only lighty but its been like that from the start

i miss "cuddles" its been over two weeks

make sure u dont over do it hev, madi needs her mummy to b strong to fulfill her demands when she comes home!!

is ur scar healin up ok? what sort of stitches did u have? mine was like a wire holdin me together!!

With Sophie i healed up really quickly and had no problems at all

But... iam having a bit of a bad time with this scar, i was up walking around the day after aswell i was walking like john wayne most of the day and i felt great but last week my scar opened up a little and started bleeding

It is my own fault for over doing it, it is getting so much better but still is very sore...my advice take it easy hun

I bleed for a week after, and then last week had a HUGE bleed running down my leg etc with huge clots MW said it was just a build up of blood, and iam still beeling a tny little bit down.

Hev...Please please please take it easy. There have been a few posts on here lately of how people have over done it, and have really taken a set back.
You dont realise what a major op it is.
I bled for about 2 weeks (heavily) then a further week (lightly)
Look after your scar well, use salt water etc. TAKE IT EASY!!!!!!!

salt water was a god send!!!!!

it didnt hurt me at all sophie, just feels like normal water but u might b a bit more sensitive if ur scar has opened?

No it didnt hurt. I got an infection and the wound was open, it stung a little but i didnt use loads of salt, just a little. I swear by it!!!

A different scar I know, but I swear sitting in salt water baths helped my episitotomy to heal.

I took Arnica remedy as well to help swelling and the bruising of the wound and would recommend that too

My wound never actually hurt me but I was quite ill due to blood loss so took me a few weeks to get back to normal as I was weak. Just seriously take it easy! No housework for 6 weeks and no reaching above your head as it can pull the internal stitches open and you'll be in agony and months more healing time. I know you'll be up the hospital quite a bit and walking won't do you any harm but when you're hun just lay down and relax. The bleeding will slow down loads with the more you take things easy. If you start bleeding heavy again it means you're over doing it so go with your body! Don't worry in a few weeks you'll be able to do lots of things again and then you won't even know you've had one.

I bled for about 5 weeks I think and then had an af straight after that so was bleeding for about 6 weeks in all.

my stiches were held together with abit of wire to! it didnt hurt when i had them out which i thought it would

im going to the salt water thing a go later

Hi hev,
Hope you are recovering well from your c-section.
It took me a month or 2 to feel back to normal, but as others have said try to take it easy as much as you can.

i bed for ages it seemed, as soon as i thought it had stopped it would start again the next day grrrr !!

Another thing I found helped is if you can air the scar as much as possible! I used to lay on the sofa with my belly out and let the scar air for like 10 mins at a time did wonders! Also if you have an over hang belly like I did (and still do but we don't talk about that ) it can get a bit sweaty and manky just from not having the air so after a few weeks you can use talc on it to dry it out. My doc told me to use it after my 6 weeks check and it was brill!

I bled for 6 weeks after my section, and then didn't get a period for about another 5.

I had a staph infection on one end of my wound because the stitches didn't dissolve right, but doc couldn't put me on antibiotics because I was b/f. So she gave me some stuff called intra site gel and it drew out all the poison and eventually the stitch!

Took it easy for a good three months, with a further three not doing full things but only exerting myself slightly. Did a 10k walk about 6 months later.

Seen MW 2day scar is worse sent me straight to docs cos she says she doesnt know what to do now, so i have some more antibiotics to start and take again and also need to go to see distrct nurse in the morning so they can start to dress it

The scare looks awful and smells awful and its still bleeding

I asked the doctor is there something i must be doing wrong like hoovering, picking up sophie etc he said that it isnt anything iam doing its the scare itself which isnt healing up

Really hope district nurse can sort it out, so i can feel normal again!!!

I asked MW if i could drive now and she said no cos she would not give me a clean bill of health

your scar looks perfect hev, exactly how mine does!!

it doesnt hurt at all does it? my tum has been a bit sensitive to touch but i think thats my organs returnin to their rightful places!
