Braxton Hicks

Well after all this time I thought I haddent been havig them and it turns out I have, I just didn't realise what they were! I guess I was expecting some sort of pain or pressure down below, when really its just my bump goes hard all over!
So know I know Im being really aware of them, and they do often happen really frequently, normally when the baby is being pretty active. Just in the hour I have been on the computer this morning it has happened about 4 times.

How frequently are other people getting them?

And is it possible that if they are more frequent its a sign that labour is not far off? (or am I just hoping!)

 

Hi hun, I know that if you get more than 4 in an hour you should let your midwife know as it could be a sign of labour starting. Also, if they become quite painful, or regualr enough that you can time them, agin ring you midwife for the same reason.

he he he he ur just hoping hun... i been getting them regular since 24 weeks..... when they become more uncomftable then labour cud be near. or maybe that just me hoping lol

I had them quite frequently with Ava, but they got very uncomfortable and sometimes painful the last few weeks.

IM 36 WEEKS AND HAVENT BEEN AWARE OF ANYTHING, MIND YOU I MUST ADMIT THAT I HAVE BEEN VERY VERY UNIMPRESSED WITH MY MIDWIFE, MY APPOINTMENTS ARE NO LONGER THAN 5 MINS, IVE BEEN GIVEN NO INSTRUCTIONS OF ANTENATAL CLASSES ETC AND SHE KNOWS IM NEW TO THIS AREA, AND ALSO A FRIEND WHOS 34 WEEKS HER MIDWIFE NOW GOES TO SEE HER YET IN 2 WEEKS WHEN I,LL BE 38 WEEK IVE STILL GOT TO GO TO SURGERY, IM GONNA CHANGE AFTER THIS BABY IF I FALL PREGNANT AGAIN COS THIS IS MEANT TO BE A SPECIAL TIME AND I FEEL IVE HAD VERY LITTLE SUPPORT!!

 

ohhh ur care sounds the same as mine... i have to drive 11 miles to see midwife.... and i only had an appointment at 35 weeks then another at 40 weeks.

i saw her again at 41 weeks for a sweep then if no luck by a week tommorrow im being induced

ive never had parent craft classes. but i know u have to phone the number in ur antental notes to book them your self.

ive not talked about labour or contractions or birth plans or any thing.. all they do is my BP, urine and listen yo baby.
