Hello ladies! Its been 6 days since i had my wee man so thought id give an update
Had a sweep last Monday, didnt think anything was going to come of it! Went to bed on Tuesday night at 11pm, woke up at 1am feeling a bit strange and with serious back pain. It then got to the stage where i couldn't sleep and thought maybe this was it! By 6am I was still awake, with the pain going right round to my lower bump. Woke other half up and told him to phone his work to say he wouldn't be in lol. By 7.30am the contractions were coming every 7/8 minutes so i phoned the labour ward who told me to persevere for as long as i could. I managed until 9.30am and went in - to find i was 4cm dilated ! Very happy!
Got a shot of diamorphine which took the edge off the contractions, me and OH watched some movies on the ipad while i drifted in and out of sleep mid contractions, then to find i was 8cm dilated! I then opted for an epidural as was getting tired and the pain was getting really bad! The antithesis was with me within 10 minutes of asking and the process was very easy! I had heard horror stories about epidurals but it was the best decision and getting some ease from the pain was amazing! After the epidural it was a bit of a blur - next thing i know the midwife is there telling me to push! The consultant came in as babies heart rate was dropping after each contraction and at last minute he had turned back to back - so i ended up getting whisked to theater for forceps and was numbed from my boobs down incase they had to preform a c-section. Luckily he managed to turn baby and before i knew it baby was lying on my chest crying! The best moment of my life! Born 21.16pm so all in all 1am - 9.16pm that night. 7lbs 2oz
So happy to have my wee Bradley, to think this little miracle was in my tummy for 9 months is mind boggling! Even the sleepless nights are worth it
