Am thinking of buying a body pillow to get me used to sleeping on my left hand side (as I usually can only fall asleep on my back). Does anyone have recommendations of where to get one?

I had a look at Mothercare, they sell one for £24.99. Then I saw one for sale on Ebay, it's 5ft long, and costs about £10 + £6P&P + optional cover £6. From the photos supplied, it looks like the long 5ft pillow looks more comfortable. Any opinions?

Been thinking about this too as I also normally sleep on my back. I tried to put a normal pillow either side of me the other night to stop me rolling over and could not get to sleep at all!

I saw another one, that is double sided - kind of butterfly shape, which I also thought looked good and less bulky than the 5ft pillow. I am nearly 6ft and my husband is, so another 5ft body in the bed would make it pretty tight on space for us both!

I have a double sided one that cost about 20 quid.
It is long and bends under your knees one side and has a smaller bit for your back the other side.

Took a while to get used to but does help. Although it makes it more difficult to roll out of bed to go to the loo, lol!

I tried a five foot one my friend had and it was comfortable, but wasn't sure about spending£25 on one. I am currently just using one normal pillow to stop me rolling onto my tummy. My friend did suggest though you could just get the long pillow case and stuff a couple of ordinary pillows in - seemed like a good idea but not tried it yet.

Where did you buy your pillow from? I have seen one called Dream Genii which is like how you described yours: double sided to support bump and back and a long bit to support knees, but I can only find suppliers that sell this pillow for £39.95 + P&P.

Hi

I was thinking of getting one i use normal pillows but i always end up on my back or tummy still and end up with aches and pains in the morning.
My friend has one that she said she could give me so i might phone her up and ask her if i still can :)

I have a 5ft body pillow - it is a blessing!! I put one end between my knees & ankles and cuddle the top part, using the top end as a pillow - it is soooooo comfy!! It stopped my bump aching which was my main complaint before I got the pillow - was £29.99 (xmas gift  ) but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and I will possibly continue to use mine after baby....although DH feels a little left out as sees the pillow getting a cuddle and not him :rotfl:

It stops me rolling over.....well stopped me rolling over, I think even without the pillow that would be a mission in itself these days :shakehead:

I have considered getting a V pillow for my back as I feel quite uncomfortable at the pc or watching TV sometimes.

Never considered a full length body pillow though. I'd be interested to hear how you ladies get along with them. One thing I'm wondering - don't they take up a lot of space in the bed? I'm not sure there's much room what with me (getting bigger all the time) and 6'4" 15 stone OH!

They were selling some cheap in Lidl recently but my local one had sold out, they were about £8.

I just use an old pillow, i put my top leg on the bottom bit and qsuash the top bit into my bump

I bought a V cushion and it's very good at supporting my back and neck when I'm sitting on the sofa watching TV. I bought mine from Argos, it cost £6.

This is the one I have seen (I think! was in a magazine, but it looks the same)

The ones that you put in between your legs I think will make me too hot, espeically in the summer months.

The National Childbirth Trust also sells a double-sided pillow: http://www.nctms.co.uk/prodshow.asp?id= ... parent=308

I think the one with the long bit would suit me more as I find my knees are quite uncomfortable when I sleep on my side, but I see what you mean about the summer months. And a scorcher is predicted for this summer!

Hi,

Oopsydaisy. Yes thats the one i've got its the dream genii.

It was from a local discount baby shop in southampton where i live called JKUK. They have loads of stuff at good prices, but no good if you're not local i suppose :(

Wow! You got a great bargain there! Surprisingly, even Ebay doesn't have it! I checked out the JKUK website but I couldn't find the pillow, maybe it's not available for mail order or they don't stock it anymore. Think I will have to fork out for a Dream Genii elsewhere.

I will say though the dreamgenii looked a lot bigger on the pack and when i took it out i though it was small.

It does take up alot of bed space lol!

Yes that's the one I was thinking of getting. In Mothercare they are about 4 times that much for the same thing!
