not sure if this is in the right place buuuuuut
what's the whole deal now with the father being at the birth and birth certificates
my mum isn't sure any more because the last time she had a baby it was the year 2000!
we was just both wondering because of getting csa when my girl is born....
thank you :)
xx

as far as i know the father has to be there if he wants his name on certificate if you are not married they dont have to be there if you are married

If you are married only one of you have to be there and it's assumed your husband is the father. If you're not, you have to register her and the father has to be there to consent to his name being on the certificate. They will ask YOU what you want to call her ie her surname.

as regards for CSA tough, I don't think the FOB name has to be on the certificate, if he refuses all knowledge then he will have to do a paternity test if u tell the CSA that he is FOB, I think. it may be wrth checking out the CSA website
