Sorry Ella pressed send -
Next year - an I'm a size 18. I just hate the idea of being this size.
I have tried everything to loose weight. Went onto slimming world, ran 3 times a week, have a PT, swim once a week, don't eat terribly at all - yet never seem to be able to loose as much as I want to.
I think I have to come to terms with just being who I am, but like you- I'm dreading the getting the dress for the day.
I want to feel special, without considering my size all day! :-(
Good luck - I hope you find something amazing !!!!

thanks hun im like a 22 so huge i wana feel special but i dont want a big do i hate attention i would much rather be the center of a argument than people saying ooooo shes looks lovely or others that look down on u for not making enough of a effort aghhh so hard .hope u find somthing too x

What is your budget hun?

Maybe you could go to a big department store and see a personal shopper? Not sure if you would feel confident enough for that but they are professional and will get you looking fab.

Alternatively have a look online for a nice trouser suit? Or if you feel brave enough a cocktail dress (with a shrug)

There are websites that specialise in larger size wedding dresses too http://curvesandcouture.co.uk/tag/plus-size-wedding-dresses/

It's your day and you deserve to feel beautiful.

im getting married 4 weeks Friday and im a big girl. My waist I can fit into a size 24 but have had to get a size 28 because of my boobs lol. I have tried to loose weight and im alot smaller than my pre pregnancy weight, but the weight loss has slowed down alot. I have bought a beautiful purple pagan/medieval dress thats quite long and it doesnt look too bad on me.
I have never been one to wear dresses or skirts either, usually in jeans and a vest top

thing that puts me off ebay is if i get the wrong size :/ im not the brightest fish in the sea and dont wear dresses i think im just in a flap tbh idealy i want to do thinkg cheap as i can my o.h isnt botherd but we dont have that much money to b honest dont want a huge venue just a sports club/rugby club will do were not posh and cant affort big mannor hotels although it would be so lovely. Hope all goes well and sounds like ur all organised for everything hope u have a fantastic day xx

I was a bigger bride (size 28 boobs and size 24 waist) I hated dress shopping, 1 lady in a shop asked how much weight I was planning on losing and was shocked when I said I didn't care if I didn't lose any as my husband fell in love with me when I was bigger! I was determined not to do traditional and wanted to wear a black and purple dress I found at a wedding fair. But then my bridesmaids dragged me to the nicest wedding dress shop i've been to and I tried this dress on and I fell in love with it, made my figure look lush! I loved being a bigger bride in the end, all my smaller friends who were getting married around me were in dieting hell.... I didn't care and ate what I wanted (was still doing slimming world after a massive weight loss with them so within reason) and still had it taken in and felt the most comfortable :D the secret with my dress was the hidden inner corset... underwear is very important... if anything buy your underwear first and take your measurements while wearing it as it can change things ! I loved it!
I also don't like the attention so made sure to make it a much more relaxed day, even though it had very traditional aspects! only a few set photo's and no top table, just lots of smaller round ones, definitely helped.
Thankfully my mum and I are wedding planners and I run my own cake company and didmy own so managed to save a lot of money there and my mum also made the bridesmaids dresses and my sister did all the stationary as she runs her own business! there are definite bargains out there, you can usually get great packages on midweek weddings :d
I LOVE weddings!! sorry for the ramble and good luck lol :D

yh, we made our own invites as well. my bouquet has cost me £5 from dunelmill and im adding feathers and ribbon to it myself. Our ceremony is in a registry office and our reception is at a local hall. not having a head table or anything either, just a few tables where anyone can sit where they want.
One bit of advice, when looking at stuff like caterers, dj's etc (if you have them), dont say its for a wedding until you agree on a price. A caterer will charge (for example) £200 to do a spread for a normal event. If they know its a wedding, they slap on more. thats gping from experience lol

I know that there was a discussion on twitter the other week about plus size wedding attire (alothugh not specifically bridal wear). The girls on there are superstars, check out the #psbloggers hashtag

I am so impressed with you girls doing your own favours etc.
I really would love to do that- plus it's give me something to do, so my brain could keep working... (I love a good project!)
Please tell me how to get started on this!
Oh - and you girls have inspired me massively! I am now determined to LOVE my wedding day, big bride or not! :)
