Ok so I was exclusively bf DS and everything was going well and he usually sleeps 8/9 til 3:30am so that's a good sleep. I normally feed him in our bed until he falls asleep then I put him in the moses basket.

But the last two nights he has woken up as soon as I pull the nipple out but he's not really feeding, just doing the odd suck while he sleeps. I tried dummies but they don't work, he's too young and they just fall out which upsets him more. I wouldnt mind letting him comfort suck for a little while if it wasn't so sore :( nipples were just raw and I ended up giving him a bottle the last 2 nights after his last feed. He takes 30-60mls but sleeps the same amount of time so I don't think he really needs it, but it knocks him out lol.

I really really don't want to start with bottles but the other night he was crying for the boob and they were both too sore :( what should I do?

I can't express because I genuinely have no time with a 22 month old to look after too and plus I can't find my electric pump since we moved house! Is a bottle really damaging to my supply? Because I make sure he's got everything from me 1st before giving it to him. I just want to do without bottles though because my supply was doing well.

G was and still is sometimes like this - I just take the nipple out as gently as poss and then if he wakes put him back and repeat. After a few times he dosent bother waking and goes to sleep.
Not 100% on the supply thing but I would guess that if you carry on substituting formula then yourbody will think it doesn't need to make as much so probably will get less milk.
Can I just say well done on the BF whilst having a 22 month old- not sure how I'll do it with the next one - it seems to take up so much of my day so kudos to you :)

All I can say is seriously keep trying with dummies - if you haven't already, try the MAM 0-2mth extra small ones or the 0+ ones. Lizzie literally went from choking on her dummy one day to loving it the next, and it has been a lifesaver!
If not, can you replace your nipple with your little finger for bit and then carefully take it out? Easier to control a finger than a nipple iykwim!
Keep going though, you're doing really well x

Aww thanks for the encouragement :) that means alot to me.

Tonight I tried something different. I didn't lie him down in my bed as usual, I sat upright with him and fed him that way. Once he was done I put him in the basket and he lay awake for 10mins and then fell asleep!

Frankie my first baby was a nightmare to feed & honestly my boobs were always out lol. I didn't know how I would manage this time but it's actually far easier and he feeds more efficiently so he doesn't take long x
