Hey everyone :)

I'm a new member of the site...already love it  I've got so many qu's to ask
i've just been going through all the different forum catogories so hopefully i get the correct help and adivce from people on here :)

Im nearly 18 weeks pregnant and unfortunatley due to unfortunate circumstances (my ex been an idiot  lol) im gunna be a single mummy by the looks of things.

I work full time and private rent my own house! i dont claim any sort of benefits at the moment. Im confused at to which benifits im entitled to when my baby is born? All the child tax credits and workin tax credits and what not confuses me :wall2: i know i've got ages but just like to be organised haha

Can anyone help me? maybe any single mums in my position who know more?

Thanks

If you go to this WEBSITE and just do a calculation based on the assumption you have 1 child plus your income it should tell how much child/working tax credit you would be entitled to :)

Hi Laura,
I don't know where abouts you live but in the local social work centres in my area they run welfare rights surgeries. They do drop ins and appointments or phone cunsultations and can help to make sure your income is maximised!! I advise my clients to do this (I work in over 65's mental health) but the service is open to everyone! Either that or the citizens advice bureau. It's all too confusing to firgure it out alone :eh:

aww thanks hun, i never thought of anything like that, i will def look into it and see if there is anything like that in my area :) it is very confusing. especially for a first time mum...whos new to it all

thanks again
