Evening ladies...I need some help/tips...

Hannah has always been a bit grisly getting out of her bath....but lately its literally horrific!!!

From the moment we get her out, she gets herself in a right state and literally screams the place down! It's the only time she screams like that. Quite often she will get herself in such a state that she is sick after her bottle...like projectile style..

so we have to really calm her down before we give her any milk....it's starting to get to both of us cos it makes every bath time really stressful..

we just use johnsons top to toe bath...

any tips...anyone been through similar??

Thanks

xx

James loves a both but when I get him out all hell breaks lose!!!! Its like im trying to murder him I just carry on lotion him up dress hum while talking to him the we have snuggles for about 10 mins and all is well with the world again......its a number of things being cold etc it does get better when they know what's coming next James is always worse when hid creams go on as they are so cold, you've just got to persiviere with it im afraid xxx

Charlie was like this, try possibly....

Put the heating on before bathtime
Keep covered up as possible whilst drying
Distract with toy or dummy or singing
When you get her put just wrap her tight and hold her close in a big warm towel off the radiator
Maybe keep her in the bath a little longer? It might be that she wasn't ready to come out, so maybe gradually sit her up in the bath then stand then fully out? I'm not sure if any will work but I tried all woth C and now he kust niggles when I put his top on but he grew out of it eventually x

Phoebe used to do this and I found the only way to calm her down was to play music. I downloaded an app called 'sleepy baby'. It plays lullabies and white noise and has colours on the screen that fades. It literally makes her quiet instantly its been a god send! Think its available on android and iphone :) xx

thanks ladies....we are doing most of the above already...must just be a baby thing!!

at least we are not alone and not missing out on a magic cure,....she just sounds so distressed...poor little mite xxx

I found the reason why Sophie seemed to hate getting out of the bath was because I was putting the towel on her head and she hated it. Stopped with it on her head and the crying stopped

ooo never thought of that...will try that tomorrow xx

Joe screams the roof off when he gets out of the bath. He. stops as long as the towel is wrapped tightly round him, almost like being swaddled

Clare I had the exact same issue!!! She literally screamed the place down! The only thing that works for me is using the big bath with a seat thingamajig, I then drain the water out whilst she is still sat in the seat. She likes listening to the plug hold noise and for some reason absolutely loves an empty bath!!! By the time she has finished kicking about and smiling she has dried without the need of a towel and I assume her body hasn't got a temperature shock with me just letting the water slowly drain away. So I then lift her out, talc her up and dress her. Bottle is ready so she doesn't need to wait and hey presto! X

I warm his towel on the radiator :) and like others have said hold him for a few min before starting to dress! X

ooh I remember AJ screaming after a bath like I was murdering him.

Turned out being in the water made him hungry. So I'd get him out, wrap him up and have a bottle prepared so he could have it straight away. Worked a treat. x

Alyssia is the same as Louises little one loves the bath but as soon as out cried bue murder! Our baby bath has a plug so we let it out and let her lie there till its drined and put her in a warm towel and she dosent cry at all, ohh and Johnstons bed time bed is amazing!! X

Will try the bedtime bath tonight. Can you wash their hair with this too? Xx

No well dont think so at least, we jst use a bit of baby shampoo x

Yeah that meant he had his bottle before getting dressed. I just kept him snug in a warm towel.
It also didn't matter if he'd had aa bottle an hour before, he'd still be starving. x

thanks ladies xxx

going to try bedtime bath! and givng her a bottle before we dress her....wish me luck!! lol xx

Sorry i've not read all the replies...

Was going to suggest a warm towel, from radiator or tumble dryer. And dress in parts....bottom part first (keeping top wrapped) then top part.

Or try a bit of bottle before you start drying, then the rest after, only prob is LO might cry when bottle is taken out. And it probs wouldn't be a good idea to move LO about too much after a feed (to dry/change)

My eldest would scream from start to finish of bath time, it made it so stressful, we stuck to it tho & she did eventually get used to it.

xxxxxxxxxx

she loves the actual in the bath bit...lol...it is very stressful.. :( xx

E is exactly the same. Happy when splashing around a soon as she gets out sounds like I'm murdering her. She has never liked getting out but is getting worst. She then screams until dressed and in her gro bag. As soon as she is pot down to get the bottle ready, starts again.
