Barium swallow- Baby

Has any one else been through this with there baby worried

Have experience from other side as am a radiographer. Paeds and gastro are my areas of special interest anything I can help with to ease your mind a bit? Xx

thank you Lettie Just not sure what to expect people keep saying it can be stress full to get them to take the Barium, wish we knew what was going on xx

Sometimes it can be but they are just objecting really. They'll probably give it to you to pop in a bottle or else they'll put sone in a syringe so you can squirt it directly into babies mouth. Babe will just be lying on the couch and once they've swallowed some they have a look with the xray, turning babe on either side etc. Take plenty of wipes as barium is quite chaulky and a bit of a pain to get off ) you'll be fine tho, just try and keep calm to help baby out and remember none of its painful, they'll be cross tears but the results are important so stick with it, Xxx hope it goes ok Xx

thank you Lettie, do you know any thing about baby spasms layla was very sick again tonight and then went in to a rigid spasm? Don't no what's normal
