Back from hospital - absolutley shattered!

Hey all.

Yesterday afternoon I started getting really gripping pains in my lower abdomen. They built up to such agony I couldnt stand or breath and was crying my eyes out. I felt really sick too. The really strong pain was coming every 10 minutes.
My mother phoned the hospital and they said I should go in, they even wanted to send an abulance!

It takes an hour to get there so I went in and by the time I'd gone there the pains had slowed down. They put me on a monitor, and baby was doing really well, he was overly active if anything.

It turns out they said I was having contractions and they stopped. So I was allowed to go home. I felt so so tired and absolutely shattered.

Ive got to wait till tuesday for my consultation appointment, and in the mean time I gotta keep my fingers crossed and take it easy.

It's all getting a bit scarey and real now!

My urine was showing protien and signs of infection - what could that mean? I have to wait 48 hours for the results.

I was taken to hospital by ambulance and the ppl in the ambo thought I was having contractions but it turned out to be kidney infection. If your urine is showing signs of infection, that would make sense - so the sooner you can get the results back the better. Kidney and water infections are painful but can be cleared up fine with antibiotics.. I've had 2 so far this pregnancy (one was the ambulance one when i was about 20 weeks and one was about 33 weeks) and I had never had any previous urine problems.

Oh and get drinking lots of water and cranberry juice (if you like it) - can't do any harm

holy moly! That must have been scary, glad to hear it's calmed down now. Get lots of rest and put your feet up for a while!

Poor you - all sounds a bit scary. If you've got a UTI drink Cranberry juice - if you can bear it - and loads of water to flush it out. Hope you're OK

im so sorry you have had a rough time hun, try to get lots of rest and an infection is nothing to worry about they will either giv you tabs ro just recommend you flush it out naturally depending on how serious of an infection it is. i showed signs at my last appointment and becus i had no other symptoms like burning sensation or discharge mw recommended plenty of water and cranberry juice.

Aw hun you poor thing glad its all settled down again. Hopefully you won't get any more although don't be too surprised if you do. I've been getting these pains for the last few weeks but they only ever lasted for 2 hrs coming every 30 minutes or so and then they stop. My MW told me they were/are early labour pains as I haven't seen showing any signs of infection in my urine. Or could be just everything getting ready.
